I come from Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, China. December 7th, 2005 is one of the
most important day in my life. On that very day, I packed up my baggage and got onto the plane to Singapore, where I will
probably spend my next ten years there.
I built this website when I was in the bridging course for my DLS (digital literacy study) course.
After that time, I abandoned the whole site. But now, to michelle, as I promised, I wanna keep you informed about the things
happened around me. I don't use blog, but I will get you know about my current situation by this site.
I don't know whether you can see this or not, but at least, this is a way you can get to know about
my situation...

The very first I came across in Singapore is Changi Airport. But I don't wanna describe it too much,
since it is only the access to Singapore. The real ones come after this-- my hostel and the place
where I study for my bridging course-- NIE.
Pasir Panjang Hostel
Before actually coming to Singapore, I had always dreamed of what my future hostel will be like.
But when I really stepped into my hostel, I suddenly found how great the proverb is --"there is always distance between reality
and immagination." Anyway, I am not gonna complain about it for I know that our condition is one of the best...
Fortunately, life in hostel is not as boring as I imagined when I first saw it. Since all the SM2
students all live together. I get a lot of fun.
When feeling sad, we comfort each other;
When having good news, we share with each other;
We are just like brothers and sisters.
Though we may only know each other for less than a year, but we do develop good friendships. This,
to me, is the one of most important part...
There is a park near our hostel -- Labrador Park. It is a good place for exercise. A lot of us will
go there and do some sports when we have time.
NIE
NIE is the place
where I take my bridging course for 20 months. Here I got the chance to meet different kinds of people and made friends with
them. My group is Group 15. There are 21 students in this class. We come from different provinces. We have different dialects
and have different background, but we do have one thing in common--we are all Chinese.
Since I reached Singapore,
the most impressive thing I came across is the PEOPLE! Here, people include the SM2 students, local Singaporeans and other
foreigners in Singapore. Before I came to this place, almost
every people around me shared the same cultural background. We spoke the same language and enjoyed the same food, same interests.
However, as I left my hometown, everything changed. Even for SM2 students, we are all from China,
but definitely we are different. Everyone here is unique and excellent. Everyone has his/her own way to approach to new things.
Everyone is good at something. And one thing is in common; everyone is young and is willing to shine. I believe the time spent
with them will be a wonderful and unforgettable memory for all of us.
